Levi Strauss & Co South Africa have thrown their considerable marketing weight behind the promotion of South African music in a program called Levi's Original Music. To consolidate their patronage of the South African music scene, they wanted to create an independent, online South African music magazine. They consulted Jingo in order to position, conceive, create and edit all the content for the site. This includes daily news updates, weekly gig reviews covering the three major South African metropoles of Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, profiles on SA musicians, CD reviews, event previews, musician blogs and a media bin for downloading music and videos from the artists.
Excitingly, Levi Strauss & Co wanted to create a credible South African music magazine online, and not simply a mouthpiece to sell more jeans. This is the ideal partnership that allows us to produce credible, cutting edge content about the South African original music scene; a subject we are passionate about. In many ways, it is the ideal gig.
